When Tennis Champ and PokerStars Meet in Spain
The tennis star, Rafael Nadal, who has won eleven Grand Slam tennis championships has certainly shown that he’s a winner on the court. Nadal has recently joined the PokerStars team and will be showing players what he’s made of when he is off the court and playing online poker. Nadal is an Olympic Gold Medalist for tennis, yet he still seems to have a way to go to perfect the art of playing poker. He has shown that he is eager to learn how to beat the poker odds from the poker pros that currently play at PokerStars. Nadal had the following to say about his entry into the world of online poker with PokerStars: “It’s no secret that I love to compete, and try my very best in everything, whether that’s tennis, golf or video games.” He continued: “When I discovered the game of poker, I chose to join PokerStars because they understand what it takes to be the best and associate themselves with the qualities of champions. I’m very happy to be working with them.” In order to promote Nadal and the online poker room in Spain, the online poker site is running a contest that will help the tennis pro to learn to play the game of poker better. PokerStars players who wish to take part in this contest need to send in a poker tip in a video. Nadal will award prizes to those who sent in tips that he feels give him the most useful advice. The winner will be awarded a special package deal to the EPT Barcelona event that takes place from 19 – 25 August. This includes €1,500 for expenses, an eight night stay in a hotel and free entry to the Main Event, valued at €5,300. The first five runner-ups each receive a chipset signed by Nadal. PokerStars has only recently been awarded a license to operate its online poker site in Spain.
